As I’m writing this we are above 30,000 feet in the air flying back home from Mexico to Los Angeles.
Diary of a Wimpy Kid something something is playing on the overhead monitors and I feel like I’m living my own version on flight.
Let’s see we are about 1.5 hours into the flight and she’s already spilled half a cup of water on her seat and herself, cried because she didn’t want her seat belt on, and just when I thought coloring was working to calm her down; she suddenly wanted to know the name of every single one of the 30 fishes on the page. She wouldn’t accept that they were all named “fish” so I started with Harry, Larry, Maria, Jose and then finally just ran out of names (tolerance) so I changed the page to distract her.
I’m pretty much stuffing my 2 1/2 year old with anything sweet that’ll keep her happy to avoid any more screams and mini meltdowns.
Half the time I’m laughing though because one antic after another is just so ridiculous that I can’t help but laugh, probably out of nervousness of not knowing what’s coming next. Now she’s howling, hahaha!!!
There’s a lot to be said about long flights where each passenger has a tv in front of them so our kids can get easily hypnotized entertained.
I just keep telling myself this will make for a great story later. 😜
More on the vacation adventures later…
