Restless in Santa Ana

This is probably one of the most unrestful nights I’ve had – although I’m sure more will follow that will make this one look pretty darn good in comparison. Today is the start of my 36th week of pregnancy.

I went to bed at 10:30pm and then was awakened by discomfort and a full bladder at 1:30am. I positioned my pillow a different way which helped to alleviate my hip discomfort for a bit, but then I was awakened again a couple hours later with a stiff neck. When my husband asked if I was okay I told him I just couldn’t get comfortable and then I laughed when I said “funny thing is right now I can’t sleep because I can’t get comfortable, later I’ll just be sleep deprived from having a newborn!”

It’s 3:39am right now and I swear every time I wake up I think “please let it be 6:00am” but nope. I look at the time on my phone and it’s usually been just a couple hours since my last sleep disturbance.

The sweet part of all this though is when my little one also happens to wake up and I feel her kicking and pushing about and I can’t help but crack a secret smile in the dark and whisper to her, yes, I feel you little one!

She’s sending me a little message right now as I type, letting me know I’m not alone in my awake time. 🙂
