Bonjourno! Last I posted we had seen beautiful Dubrovnik and then we headed to Athens.
In Athens we stayed a couple of nights and got to explore the Acropolis and also walk a little bit of the city on our own.
We also went to Meteora to visit a monastery and a nunnery there. This place was incredible. If you ever have an opportunity to be in Greece, Meteora is one of the places you don’t want to miss seeing. It’s worth the 4 hour drive there from Athens. We ended up just booking a private driver to take us there. Once there, the views are breathtaking. It’s truly a work of faith and perseverance the beautiful monasteries they built on top of these cliffs.
If you’re going with young kids like our 6 and 3 year olds it does involve quite a bit of walking and definitely not stroller friendly. We never took ours with us because it was just one more thing to carry.
As for Athens, I would suggest the same for visiting the Acropolis. It’s really not the kind of terrain to take a stroller. Best if your young ones can walk or you switch to carrying them on and off. Which is what we ended up doing. This time of year it’s pretty hot so make sure you carry a backpack with waters. Although once you enter inside the Acropolis no food or drinks are allowed. But at least hydrate just before.
There are so many pictures I would love to share but that would make this post nearly endless.
From Athens, on our last day we went to the port and got ready to start our cruise; two weeks of visiting various cities along the Mediterranean.
We are now just a couple days away from disembarkation and I can’t wait to share with you soon all about our fantastic experience!
