Lately I have been surprised by so many acts of kindness and love that I’m at a loss for words in expressing my gratitude to God and my family/friends and all I can say is a heartfelt Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! I actually heard those 3 simple but significant thank you’s from one of the Pastor’s at church at our last service as she told us that sometimes, when we are at a loss for words when we are filled with gratitude, all we need to say is thank you. The other thing she told us was that when we are going through tough times and don’t know quite how to speak to God or where to start or what to say, we can simply pray Help Me, Help Me, Help Me. There is so much power in simplicity.
But before I get off track though, I was about to say that my heart is truly touched. Lately I have been surprised by random expressions of kindness and love that it just warms my heart and opens up my eyes to the fact that there is love and kindness around us all, even amid the troubles and hardships of day to day living. There is always something to be thankful for. I know that maybe sometimes we think that our acts go unnoticed or unappreciated because we may not always be witness to the results or appreciation, but I’m here to say that those kind and loving things we do don’t go unnoticed. And also that really the reward itself is being kind and loving, not so much seeing the end result.
I am so thankful to God for everything that i have experienced in the last few months and all the love that surrounds me. It humbles me and I realize that I want to give back the same because you never know at what moment you are deeply touching someone’s heart and even possibly reminding someone during a tough time that love and kindness exists.
In the community where we live we have a lot of neighbors that are older ladies and they are so kind and sweet and just a great joy to talk with. Well one of our neighbors talked to my husband one day about how a few of the ladies that we regularly interact with wanted to throw a baby shower for me. I was so touched by this. I then talked with our neighbor who is hosting the shower and I never expected or imagined to hear some of the really nice things she said. Not because I think I’m some horrid person, haha, but because it almost embarrasses me a bit, you know? I was so touched by her kindess and the things she said, especially because I already feel so blessed to have such nice neighbors and to know such great people. They are all very excited about our baby girl and that alone just fills my heart with happiness, that our little girl is already surrounded by such love.
And then a friend of mine called me yesterday and surprised me with the coolest thing for the baby shower my mom, cousin, and sister in law are hosting for my friends/family. I was so overwhelmed that I just didn’t know how to adequately express how happy it made me to hear what she offered to do. I’m not going to share here what my friend has planned (or who she is) because I know some of my friends/family that will be at the shower follow some of my posts and I want it to be a surprise for them. I’ll post about how everything turned out after the shower though. Only my mom knows because I want it to be a surprise for my cousin and sister in law who are helping my mom so that atleast something is a surprise for them since they’re behind the scenes on everything else.
I’ve always known that I am blessed with loving family and friends and surrounded by so much love and support, I just wanted to take the opportunity today to say Thank you, Thank you, Thank you to God for everything that he’s placed in my life.
